Description

46 Cheap Street is a late medieval timber-framed building dating from around 1625. It has two storeys, with stone at the ground level and timber framing above that is finished with plaster. The ground floor features two moulded posts that support curved braces for the overhanging upper storey. The roof is covered with plaintiles and has two Georgian gabled dormers. The first floor has later wooden casement windows, while the ground floor has two inserted shop windows. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 30 (even) and Nos 34 to 50 (even).
