Description
The entrance gates and gate piers to South Lytchett Manor, located 700 metres east of the manor, were designed around 1905 by architect W D Caröe. The structure features a pair of square-section stone gate piers with panelled sides, moulded plinths and caps, concave-shaped tops, and ball finials. Low walls, which are curved in plan and have moulded caps, connect these piers to an outer pair that shares a similar design but lacks the tops and finials. The entrance is adorned with ornamental iron gates and an overthrow topped with an iron figure of an owl. Above the walls, there are ornamental iron railings with openwork piers that have moulded caps and urn finials.
