Description

The stables and attached cart shed, located 30 metres south-west of Catsley Farmhouse, date from around 1800. They feature rubble-stone walls with stone quoins and stone gable copings topped with obelisk finials. The roof is made of slate and corrugated iron. The stables include a loft above, with two windows that have renewed wooden shutters and stone lintels. There are two additional shutters over the loft openings. The central doorway has a keyed stone lintel and stone jambs, which are rebated on the inside. To the right, there is a small single stable. The cart shed consists of five bays with a stone rear wall and an open front supported by four wooden posts with stone bases, also topped with a slate roof. The right-hand end features stone gable coping with a finial at the apex.
