Description

The Greyhound Inn, originally two houses, dates from the 17th century and was altered in the 18th century, with a date stone on the porch marking 1733. It features colourwashed rubble stone walls with some brick repairs and stone slate roofs, along with brick stacks at the ends and center. The building has two storeys and attics.

On the left side, there is a two-storeyed projecting porch that is open on the ground floor, supported by three circular stone columns. It has a part-glazed door, and the ground floor includes two sash windows with vertical glazing bars set under segmental arches. The first floor has two similar sash windows without arches, and each face of the porch features a sash window with a vertical glazing bar on the first floor. A fire insurance plaque is mounted on the porch. The attic contains two gabled dormers with casement windows that have a horizontal bar in the center.

The right side of the building has a two-storeyed projection at the end, which was originally open on the ground floor but is now infilled. This section has a part-glazed door beneath a flat hood supported by shaped brackets on the left side wall. The front wall on the ground floor has one sash window with vertical glazing bars and a blocked window above it. In the main part of this house, the ground floor has two 2-light sash windows with vertical glazing bars, and the first floor has two similar sash windows. The attic also features two gabled dormers with casement windows that have a horizontal glazing bar in the center. Internally, some exposed ceiling beams can be seen.
