Description

Stone Lodge is a cottage in a terrace, likely originally part of a larger house with the adjacent property at No. 14. It probably dates from the 17th century. The cottage is constructed of rubble stone walls with a roof covered in stone slates, and features a brick stack at the left end. The building is one storey high with an attic. A ledged door provides access, and there is evidence of a second door that has since been blocked. The ground floor has two casement windows; one has glazing bars, and the other has cast iron lights. The attic has a gabled half-dormer window with casements containing lead lights. Inside, the main ground floor room has a large open fireplace with a stop-chamfered timber lintel that has run-out stops and a cambered profile.
