Description

The Cheese House at Park Farm is a 17th-century cheese house located on the north side of Main Street in Chideock. It features walls made of Lias stone with large quoins facing the street and a thatched roof, of which one gable end remains intact. The gable end facing the street has been dismantled due to safety concerns. The building is one and a half storeys high and has approximately three windows. The window openings have plank shutters or 20th-century insertions. There is a doorway on the east wall, with a loft door directly above it, also made of planks. The thatch is styled to sweep over the windows like eyebrows. However, the south end of the Cheese House is in a ruinous condition.
