Description
69 Newland is a T-shaped house made of stone rubble, located at the corner of North Road. The building features a 19th-century front that is attached to an earlier core. It has two storeys and a three-bay rendered front facing Newland, with a prominent ashlar plinth. The roof is covered with slate. The windows are sash types set in reveals without glazing bars, and there is a two-light wooden casement with small panes above at the right-hand end. Also at the right-hand end is a stone doorway adorned with Tuscan pilasters, decorative paterae above, and a pediment. The entrance has a six-panelled door, with the upper four panels glazed. This property is part of a group that includes No 31 Newland, the east range of Sherborne House, the front and rear garden walls of Sherborne House, No 41, The Manor House, three cottages next to The Manor House, two adjoining cottages, Nos 57 to 93 (odd), and the north-east boundary wall to Newland Close.
