Description

The Retreat is a detached house located on Chapel Street in Milborne Saint Andrew, dating from the early 19th century. It features roughcast walls and a low-pitched slate roof, with brick stacks at each end. Designed in the Regency style, the house stands two storeys tall and has slightly projecting plaster quoins and pilasters on the front wall. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing, flanked by Tuscan pilasters that support a slightly projecting moulded canopy. The ground floor includes two sash windows with glazing bars, while the first floor has three similar windows.
