Description
A group of 31 headstones is located adjacent to the south porch of the Church of All Saints in Weymouth. These monuments, made of Portland stone, date from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. They have been arranged to form a continuous low wall, with some stones set vertically and others laid on their sides, all finishing at a common level at the top. The wall extends westward from the southwest corner of the south porch to the churchyard path entry at the north end of the Old Rectory. Several stones feature sunk panels with lettering in capitals from the 17th century, including one stone that is dated 1601. The largest stone measures approximately 2 meters by 1 meter, while the others are smaller. Although these monuments have been moved from their original locations in the churchyard, they hold historical significance for the church and the former village.
