Description

Wayside Cross, located 10 metres north-west of Old Broomhill Cottage, dates back to the 15th century. It is made of stone, specifically Ham stone, and features a roughly octagonal stone plinth. The cross-shaft is square and tapers upwards, standing at 1.5 metres tall. The corner standards are weathered, and the west face displays very weathered carving, which includes the remains of a carved figure standing on a bracket, as noted by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England. This site is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument (Dorset 445).
