Description
These are a pair of town houses built around 1800 as part of a row. They are constructed of local killas rubble stone, with shallow arches above the windows emphasised by keyblocks. The roof is covered in concrete tiles, with brick chimney stacks at each end. The houses follow a shallow double-depth plan, and have a symmetrical three-window frontage over a basement. The windows are original 16-pane hornless sash windows, with smaller sashes on the second floor.
A wide flight of granite steps, flanked by iron railings, leads to a pair of round-arched doorways. Above the doorways are spoked fanlights, and the original six-panel doors are set within a wide distyle Tuscan porch with a moulded cornice. The property's interior has not been inspected, but is likely to contain features of interest.
The attached forecourt has a granite ashlar plinth topped by original wrought-iron railings featuring turned finials above the stanchions.
