Description

Erin Lodge is an early 19th-century suburban house, originally shown on Ordnance Survey maps as Enfin Lodge. It is constructed of stucco over rubble, with a low-pitched dry slate hipped roof featuring deep eaves and an egg and dart cornice. The house has a double-depth plan and is arranged symmetrically with three bays, the central bay being narrower and containing the entrance. Quoin strips define the projecting outer bays, and carved mid-floor bands accentuate the side bays. The windows are original 12-pane hornless sashes. A round-arched doorway, topped with a spoked fanlight, leads to an original six-panel door (appearing as a pair of doors), situated within a distyle Doric porch with a segmental arch overhead. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest.
