Description

The gate piers to Tregothnan are located at the start of the drive, 5 metres west of 11 and 12 St Michael Penkivel. These piers are probably from the 17th century and are made of granite ashlar. Each pier is square in shape and features moulded work at the plinth, string, and cornice. They are topped with a ball finial on a concave pyramidal cap. Halse, the Cornish historian, records these as having come from Fenton Goleen, a house which once stood in Ferry Lane.
