Description
The railway viaduct over the River Fal is located on the St Austell - Truro line and was built in 1898 to replace an earlier viaduct from 1859. It is constructed from rock-faced granite rubble with stone dressings and features a brick parapet. The structure consists of seven round arches, with the arches made of rusticated granite voussoirs and imposts. The piers have a rectangular plan and are battered, topped with stone coping and a brick parapet. At the east end of the viaduct, the flank wall is splayed back and ramped down, also featuring stone coping.
