Description

LESNEWTH LESNEWTH SX 19 SW 2/104 Pound 100m to north east of Old Rectory GV II

Wall, pound or whim. Possibly late C18. Slate stone rubble and quartz. Almost circular enclosure of approximately 10 metres diameter, revetted into hillside with single entrance on south west. The walls are over 2 metres in height with top course of slate oversailing. Stands in coniferous woodland planted in late 1940s, to west of Lesnewth church.
