Description
This structure is a pound, or whim, located 100 meters to the northeast of the Old Rectory in Lesnewth. It is possibly from the late 18th century and is constructed of slate stone rubble and quartz. The enclosure is almost circular, measuring approximately 10 meters in diameter, and is built into the hillside with a single entrance on the southwest side. The walls rise over 2 meters in height, with the top course of slate extending outward. The pound is situated in coniferous woodland that was planted in the late 1940s, to the west of Lesnewth church.
