Description
The Wellington and Rosevear monuments are a pair of headstones located in the churchyard about 5 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Ciricius and St Julitta in Luxulyan. They date from the early 19th century and are made of slate. The headstone for Elizabeth Wellington, dated 1823, features a square top with incised primitive Ionic pilasters and a segmental head above the inscription panel, adorned with carved fans on both sides and an admonitory sextet. The headstone for Nicholas Rosevear, from 1816, has stylised Ionic pilasters and a round top above the inscription panel, also with carved fans on the sides and valedictory verses.
