Description
No 12A is part of an early to mid 19th century terrace in Morrab Place, Penzance. This three-storey building is stuccoed and built in pairs, featuring two windows on each floor. The adjacent houses, Nos 14 and 15, are pebble-dashed and have sash windows, while Nos 12 and 13 have modern casements with moulded or recessed architraves. Nos 14 and 15 also feature Doric porches and a rusticated ground floor. The buildings at Nos 16 and 17 have semi-arched doorways. The terrace has slate roofs with wide eaves and dormers.
No 12A, located at the rear of No 12, is roughcast with a slate roof that has a hipped end. It is two storeys tall with two windows; the first floor has large sashes with glazing bars, and the ground floor has two modern casements. There is a central doorway with a flat pilastered doorcase and entablature, along with a narrow rectangular fanlight. This building is included for its group value with Nos 1 to 7 and Nos 10 to 17, which form a cohesive architectural group.
