Description

Milestone. Early 19th century. This granite monolith stands about one metre high and is set into the bank. It features a segmental head that is painted, with carved painted lettering in upper case without serifs reading: LUXULYAN 1 MILE. There is a benchmark located below the inscription. The word "Luxulyan" is carved in a curve to follow the shape of the head of the milestone.
