Description
The Fitzsimmons Arms Public House is an early to mid-19th century building located on Coinagehall Street in Helston. It features a rendered front and an asbestos slate roof that is hidden behind a parapet. A single reset 17th-century crested clay ridge tile can be seen on the rear wing, and there are brick stacks at either end. The building has a U-shaped plan with deep rear wings that flank what was once a carriageway. It stands two stories tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The windows are early to mid-19th century hornless sashes with glazing bars. The central window is a 12-pane sash above a wide doorway that has modern boarded and panelled double doors. On either side of the doorway are canted oriel windows with moulded cornices and apron plinths, above a modern narrow tripartite horned sash on the left and a similar wide tripartite sash on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
