Description

The well-head, located approximately 50 metres south-west of the Abbey, is dated 1612, although it is likely a later structure. It is built into a stone wall and features a rectangular opening with squared granite jambs and a lintel. Inside, there is a large granite slab that forms a shelf. One of the stones in the jambs has the date "1612" crudely carved on it, which may have been re-carved or executed later based on an earlier reference to a wall at this site.
