Description
Pennance Mill is a miller's house located in Falmouth, believed to have been built around 1760 for a mine captain, although it appears to date from the early 19th century. The building is constructed from killas rubble with granite dressings and features a dry slate roof with brick end stacks. It has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window front. The original windows are 16-pane hornless sashes, and there is a central doorway that has a 20th-century door. The interior has not been inspected, but it is reported to retain many original features, including an open-well staircase, panelled doors, one large stone fireplace, another blocked fireplace, and roof trusses made from reused ships' timbers.
