Description
Milestone, probably from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is a small granite monolith, rectangular in shape with a rounded top, and painted white. The front features a carved letter "L" for Launceston, with the number "4" below it. There is also a later benchmark carved on the top. The roads leading to Launceston were constructed under the Turnpike Act of 1760.
