Description
Holyway Cross is a wayside cross, likely dating from before the conquest. It is a granite monolith approximately 7 feet tall, set on a later granite base. The shaft has a rectangular section and features a circular head with lugs at the angles of both the shaft and head. The corners of the shaft are moulded. On both faces of the head, there is an Alisee patee cross carved in low relief, with the lower arm extending onto the shaft in the form of a blade. It is also designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument No 291.
