Description

Jasmine Cottage is a house likely dating from the early 19th century, situated in Lewannick, near Hicksmill. It is constructed of stone rubble, with the front face rendered, and has a rag slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble end stacks are present. The original layout was probably a double-depth plan, with the front entrance near the centre, flanked by two principal rooms. Service rooms would have been located at the rear. The two-storey front façade is almost symmetrical, featuring a 2-window arrangement. A 20th-century part-glazed porch with a lean-to roof sits in front of the entrance, and is flanked by two 19th-century 2-light casement windows. Two further 19th-century 2-light casement windows are situated on the first floor. The rear elevation has not been inspected, nor has the interior. The building possesses group value relating to the wider historic character of the area.
