Description

LEWANNICK POLYPHANT SX 28 SE 2/61 House directly to west of site of Manor House GV II House. 1865 (datestone). Stone rubble, stuccoed with moulded plinth. Slate roof with gable ends. Stuccoed end stacks. Plan: Double depth plan. Central entrance leading into stair hall flanked by principal room to left and service rooms to rear left and large principal room on right, overlooking the garden. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3 window front, almost central entrance with gable end of cross wing set slightly forward on right and gable end to left. C20 porch with projecting end stack to right and 4-pane sash and C20 door to left. First floor, with two 4-pane sashes and mullion and transom stair window near centre. Symmetrical 2-window garden front on right overlooking village and site of Polyphant Manor. Two C19 3-light timber ovolo-moulded mullion and transom windows with hood mould on ground floor with datestone '1865' centrally placed above. Two ovolo moulded mullion windows on first floor. Interior: C19 joinery and original stair.
