Description

This house, located directly to the west of the site of the Manor House, was built in 1865, as indicated by a datestone. It is constructed of stone rubble and has a stucco finish with a moulded plinth. The roof is slate with gable ends, and there are stuccoed end stacks. The house features a double depth plan with a central entrance that leads into a stair hall. On the left side, there is a principal room and service rooms at the rear, while a large principal room on the right overlooks the garden.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front. The entrance is almost central, with a cross wing gable end slightly forward on the right and another gable end on the left. There is a 20th-century porch with a projecting end stack on the right, and to the left, there is a four-pane sash window and a 20th-century door. On the first floor, there are two four-pane sashes and a mullion and transom stair window near the centre. The garden front on the right, which overlooks the village and the site of Polyphant Manor, is symmetrical with two 19th-century three-light timber ovolo-moulded mullion and transom windows on the ground floor, topped by a centrally placed datestone reading '1865'. The first floor features two ovolo-moulded mullion windows. Inside, there is 19th-century joinery and the original stair.
