Description

The Gateway to the Old Vicarage, dating from around 1840 to 1850, is a pedestrian gate made of rendered stone with slate copings on the pediment. It features a wide line-rusticated design that leads to the south garden, aligned with the main elevation of the house. The gate is set within a garden wall at the east entrance to the churchyard. It is topped with an unmoulded triangular pediment, and the rustication joints create false voussoirs for the round-headed arched opening. The gate itself is framed and battened, with a spiked semicircular iron bar in the fanlight.
