Description

The buildings at 67 and 69 Fore Street in Bodmin are a pair of town houses, likely dating from the late 18th century, with later alterations incorporating a shop. The front is faced with incised stucco applied to a studwork frame, with rubble walls elsewhere, and partially rebuilt with concrete blocks to one end. The roof is steeply pitched and covered in dry slate, originally featuring a modillion eaves cornice. The houses have a single-depth plan, arranged over three storeys, with a three-window front. A 16-pane hornless sash window is visible on the first floor to the left, while squat, second-floor sashes occupy the upper level. Later 19th-century horned sash windows complete the upper facade. The ground floor has one sash window to the left, and a late 19th-century shop front with two doorways to the right, all beneath a moulded entablature. The left-hand doorway is flanked by pilasters and features an original six-panel door, with the top two panels being later glazed. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to contain features of interest.
