Description
The mounting block, known locally as a hipping stock, is located approximately 25 metres east of Gear and Kerrow Farmhouse. It was likely built in the 19th century and is constructed from granite rubble, featuring roughly-hewn granite steps. The block has a rectangular plan and consists of a flight of four steps leading to a small landing. It is positioned against a stone-faced retaining wall that fronts the garden of the farmhouse.
