Description

This barn, located 10 metres to the south-west of Battens, is likely from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a rag slate roof with hipped ends. The barn has an overall rectangular shape, with shippons on the ground floor and a loft above.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front elevation. The ground floor includes dressed stone arches, with two wide openings that have double doors and two narrower doors for the shippons. On the first floor, there is a loft door opening that is flanked by two narrow ventilation slits. Inside, there are heavy, roughly chamfered cross beams. The first floor has not been inspected.
