Description
Merther Uny Millhouse is a 18th-century miller's house. It features granite rubble walls with granite moorstone dressings and has a fairly steep scantle slate roof. The roof includes a dressed granite chimney on the left-hand gable end and a granite ashlar chimney on the right-hand gable end. The building has a two-room plan, likely with a kitchen or living room on the left and a parlour on the right, with an entrance lobby and stair between. There is a 20th-century lean-to on the right side. The exterior is two storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical three-window west front with a central doorway, which contains a 20th-century door and 20th-century six-pane horned sashes. The interior has not been inspected, but near the left-hand end, there is a large granite moorstone with a basin-shaped hollow carved out of it.
