Description

No. 40 Chapel Street is an early 19th-century building with a roughcast exterior and a slate roof featuring gable ends. It stands two storeys high and has two sash windows on the front, which do not have glazing bars and are framed by flat architraves. The first-floor windows project slightly and are topped by eaves with gable heads and finials. To the right of the building, there is a doorway that is adorned with a pedimental hood supported by brackets. This building is included in the listing for its group value, as it is part of a collection of listed buildings on the northeast side of Chapel Street.
