Description

This is an 18th-century granite ashlar building on the north-east side of Chapel Street in Penzance. It is two storeys and a basement high, with a modern attic storey added later. The front facade has three windows; the outer windows are two-storeyed, three-light sash windows within timber canted oriel bays topped with cornices. A cornice and parapet run along the roofline. To the left is a two-storey, single-windowed open porch with Tuscan columns and an entablature, leading to steps and a platform with railings. To the right is a roughcast projection of three storeys, featuring a semi-circular headed window on the first floor and a doorway below. Iron railings run along the basement wall. The building is included on the list for group value, forming part of a wider group of listed buildings along Chapel Street.
