Description
The Hosking Monument, located between the porch and south transept of the Church of Saint Piran and Saint Michael in Perranuthnoe, is a memorial likely erected in 1863. It commemorates Thomas P. Hosking, who died in 1808 at the age of 26, and his wife Mary, who passed away in 1803 at the age of 48. The monument features a chamfered marble pillar topped with a moulded cap and a carved finial, standing on a square stepped granite base. This base is accented by octagonal iron corner stanchions adorned with seed-head finials and connected by iron chains.
