Description
Sunny Corner Cottage is a house dating from around the middle of the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble with brick dressings, and has a slate roof with gable ends. A stone chimney stack belonging to an adjoining property stands on the left-hand gable end, while a brick chimney stack is on the right-hand gable. The original layout consisted of two rooms and a through passage, with a larger room, likely a kitchen, situated on the right. A rear extension has been added.
The two-storey, almost symmetrical front has three windows. The ground floor windows consist of two six-pane sashes beneath timber lintels, flanking a 20th-century part-glazed door on the left side. Above, there are three 2-light casements with glazing bars, with two outer casements that are centre-hung and date from around the middle of the 19th century. These upper windows have timber lintels and brick dressings.
The interior features 19th-century joinery. The first floor was not inspected. The exterior of the cottage remains largely unaltered.
