Description
This small house, likely originally a pair of cottages, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of painted killas rubble with stucco, probably applied over cob, on the front. The house features slate sills and a mostly grouted scantle slate roof that slopes lower to the rear left, covering a rear outshut. Brick chimneys are located over the gable ends, with an external breast on the left side.
The layout consists of two unequal rooms, with a service room at the back of the left-hand room. The building is two storeys high and has an irregular two-window south front. The front door, which is top-glazed and dates from the early 20th century, is off-centre towards the left. There is a first-floor window positioned over the pier between the left-hand window and the door, while the right-hand windows are evenly spaced.
The interior has not been inspected. This house is notable as one of the few modest local buildings that has managed to avoid extensive renovations in the 20th century.
