Description

ZENNOR SW 43 NE 4/280 Granary at approximately 15 metres 9.2.88 north west of Tregerthen Farmhouse GV II Granary over possibly shippon or stable. Circa early C19. Granite rubble with granite dressings. Scantle slate roof with gable ends. Plan: rectangular plan with double flight of external steps to opposing loading/winnowing doorways. Exterior: 2 storeys. East front has a ground floor doorway approached under the landing of the stairs so that the stone landing forms a porch. Small ventilator windows. Monolithic mounting block adjoins the rear steps. Both front and rear steps are steeper to one side, presumably for quicker descent. Interior: not inspected. Part of an unspoiled coastal hamlet set in the ancient field system of this part of Cornwall.
