Description
Portloe Methodist Church, including the front wall and railings, is a non-conformist chapel built in the mid-19th century. It features a stucco exterior over stone rubble and has a hipped roof made of Delabole slate. The building has a rectangular plan with a small porch at the north end and stands two storeys tall. The west front is regular and symmetrical, with three square-headed sash windows with margin glazing in the basement schoolroom and a pointed arched planked door on the far right. The chapel has three pointed arched sash windows with marginal glazing and a pointed arched planked door leading to the porch, which is topped with a plain parapet. Inside, the church has a simple design with original seating and a rostrum that includes cast iron details. The flat ceiling features a decorative band and rose. There is a low wall along the west front, accompanied by cast iron railings.
