Description
The property comprises a pair of cottages and a further adjoining cottage, located in Veryan, Portloe. Dating from the 18th century, or possibly very shortly thereafter, the cottages are constructed of painted slatestone rubble and cob, with grouted scantle slate roofs. Brick chimneys project from the gable ends, with a stone lateral stack located at the rear of the middle cottage. Each cottage has a single-room plan and is one room deep.
The east front, which faces the road, has one ground-floor and first-floor window to each cottage. The pair of cottages have mirror-image elevations, with front doorways closely spaced in the centre, flanked by a window on each side. The first-floor windows are offset. The lower cottage to the left is contemporary but has a different facade pattern, featuring a door to the right of a window. A 20th-century glazed door is located to the left, and a planked door to the right. There is an external stack to the right, along with a lean-to extension containing a single window. All windows are 16-pane sashes. The interiors have not been inspected.
A coped rubble and painted wall forms the boundary alongside the surrounding small front gardens, and this wall is included within the listing.
