Description
No. 6 St Thomas Street is a town house built in the late 18th century or early 19th century on a 17th-century site. It features granite ashlar construction with keyed nearly flat arches and a steep dry slate roof adorned with a modillion cornice. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a two-window range. The windows are mid to late 19th-century hornless sashes, with taller sashes on the first floor. The late 19th-century shop front includes a transom with a splayed central doorway flanked by sidelights, elliptical-arched top lights, and end pilasters with consoles. A moulded entablature with a fascia extends over the house doorway on the left, which has a four-panel door and overlight. There is a 20th-century fascia in front. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century, and the rest of the interior has not been inspected.
