Miller's house and attached watermill ; now one house. C18 miller's house, with later C18 stable attached. Mill building probably of mid C19. C20 alterations. Rendered stone rubble. Slate roofs ; slurried over the house, with gable ends and gable end stacks with brick shafts. The mill has crested ridge tiles and axial stacks with brick shafts. Plan: The mill house is of double depth plan, under a 2-span roof ; principal room of front left and right, each room heated from a gable end stack, with central entrance. Attached to rear right is a stable, of later C18. The mill is attached at the left end, with 2 gable ends to the front, rooms heated from axial stacks, 2 rooms front and rear ; this may be an extensive remodelling of a mill. The leat runs along the rear. Attached to the front right of the mill is a retaining wall with railings. Exterior: The mill house is 2-storey, a symmetrical 3-window front ; all windows are 12-pane sashes with cambered arches ; first floor central 8-pane sash with margin glazing and Gothic glazing bars. Central plank door. The right side has external stack. The stable is 2-storey, with central stable door and single light to left at ground floor ; central door to the loft. The mill to left is of 2 storeys on basement. The two front gable ends have mullion and transom window at ground and first floor. Right side has C20 garage doors to the basement, with similar window at ground and first floor. At the left side, there is a gable to left, and random C20 fenestration, with C20 door to left. Attached to the front right of the mill is a rubble retaining wall rising from the basement level ; on top, a range of cast iron railings with knob finials, about 15 metres long, the railings set on granite coping stones.
