Description

PARRACOMBE PARRACOMBE SS 64 SE 6/135 Parracombe Mill, including - attached outbuilding at east end 26.4.77 GV II Miller's house including attached outbuilding and mill. Probably late C17 with C19 and C20 alterations. Painted stone rubble, partially slate-hung at right gable end. Bitumized slate roof with gable ends. Stone rubble stack at left end with tapered cap and drip. The house, which is slightly cranked, has room to each side of entrance hall containing staircase, with lofted outbuilding attached at left end. The mill building, with mill wheel at its gable end, extends at right angles from rear left end of the house. 2 storeys. 3-window range. C20 fenestration, 2 light casements, 6 panes per light with replaced timber lintels. Large 6 paned window to right of C20 ½-glazed door. Lofted outbuilding extending from left end has loft door above double plank doors. 2-storey outshut to rear right end of house. Mill building extending at right angles from rear left end has outshot mill wheel still in working order at its gable end.
