Description

Montpellier House is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is built with a stucco facade, painted rubble sides and rear, and a slate roof. The house follows a shallow double-depth plan and is two storeys high with three bays arranged symmetrically. It has a plinth and a central doorway with a plain surround, a recessed panelled door, and a shallow overlight. The windows are unhorned sashed windows with exposed boxes; the ground floor windows have 20 panes, and those above have 16 panes. The roof is shallow-pitched and hipped with projecting eaves and side wall chimneys. Inside, the staircase is modest, featuring stick balusters, and the doors are panelled and made of deal.
