Description

This is a farmhouse located south of Ivy Cottage, dating from the early 18th century, with some 19th century and later alterations. It is constructed of random granite rubble and features a slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends. The building has brick gable end stacks, with the chimney on the right rendered.

The farmhouse has a two-room plan, consisting of a smaller room on the left and a larger room on the right, both heated by gable end stacks. There is a central entrance, and an integral outshut for a service room is located at the rear right, accessed from the back of the right room. The outshut has been later extended to the rear left, going beyond the gable end of the main building.

The front of the farmhouse is nearly symmetrical, featuring two windows and a central doorway. The windows are from the mid-19th century. The first floor has two 2-light casements, each with four panes, while the ground floor includes the remains of a 20th-century porch and a half-glazed door, along with two 2-light casements—one with four panes on the right and one with two panes on the left.

On the right side, there is an external stack with a cornice, and at the rear, there is a projection with a pitched roof, which may have been an oven. The rear features a two-pane light at ground floor and a single light at first floor on the right side. To the left, there is a four-pane sash window, a 20th-century door, and porch, along with a straight joint to the right, where the outshut may have served as an unheated dairy, featuring a single light at both ground and first floors on the left side. The interior has not been inspected.
