Description

The Chawner tomb, located approximately 10 metres northeast of the Church of St Phillack, is a chest tomb dating from 1844. It commemorates Pagent Chawner, who died in 1844 at the age of 41. The tomb is made of granite, featuring a monolithic chest set on a granite monolithic base. On the south side, there is an inset marble plaque with an incised inscription. The tomb has a rectangular plan, with a chamfered base and a pyramidal topped chest that includes a rectangular flat top panel.
