Description

A pair of town houses dating from the late 18th and early 19th centuries, located in Penryn. The houses are constructed of painted rubble with timber lintels, topped with an asbestos slate roof, and feature a brick stack on the left-hand side. They have a shallow-depth plan.

The properties are three storeys high and arranged with a two-window frontage. No. 4 (the right-hand property) likely retains original 16-pane hornless sash windows, while No. 6 has late 19th-century four-pane sash windows with horns. A window opening on the second floor of No. 6 has been blocked or is blind. A pair of doorways is positioned centrally, with 20th-century doors in place.

The interior of the buildings has not been inspected. The houses form part of a well-preserved street largely dating to the 18th century. The street is stepped down a steep hill and demonstrates the 18th-century expansion of the port and town.
