Tregeare Methodist Chapel And Adjoining Sunday School

Tregeare Methodist Chapel and the adjoining Sunday School were built around the mid-19th century. The chapel is constructed from snecked local stone rubble with granite dressings and a moulded plinth, with the front wall painted and part of the rear slate hung. It features a slate roof with gable ends. The lower Sunday school is made of stone rubble with brick dressings and also has a slate roof with gable ends and crested ridge tiles.

The building has a rectangular plan with the entrance located at the liturgical west end. The Sunday school is attached to the right on the liturgical south side. The front of the chapel has a gable end, with the central bay slightly projecting forward. There are two small porches on either side, each with 19th-century plank doors set in two-centred arched openings and topped with battlemented parapets. The central three-light lancet window at the liturgical west end features a central glazed light flanked by two blind lights, with a narrow lancet window above in the gable, which has a weathervane at the top. On the left side, there are two tall narrow lancet windows with lattice glazing bars, accompanied by two narrow blind window openings. The adjoining Sunday school is a single storey and has brick dressings around its openings, with plank double doors on the left and three mullion and transom windows on the right, the top light having pointed arched heads.

Inside, the chapel is simply furnished but retains its complete 19th-century fittings.
