Description
This is a lychgate, possibly from the 18th century, located 15 meters south of the Church of St Michael in Lesnewth. It is constructed from slate stone rubble and serves as the south entrance to the churchyard, cutting through the thick stone hedge that borders the church. The two side walls of the lychgate include benches, and the entrance is divided in the center by a low slate rubble pier with a flat slate top that acts as a coffin rest. There are slate cattle grids positioned between the central coffin rest and the side walls. The lychgate is set in a particularly picturesque location.
