Description
Wooda Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century that was restored around 1990. It is rendered over local rubble and features a gabled slate roof with a brick stack. The building has a double-depth plan with the entrance located in the south gable end. It stands two storeys tall and has a two-window gabled front, with a plat band that runs across the gable at eaves height. There is a lean-to porch with brick walls and a glass roof, likely added in the early 20th century. The front has a late 19th-century six-panelled door with cambered heads and modern three-over-six and six-over-six pane sash windows on the ground floor. The rear has a hipped roof with three-over-six pane sashes. Inside, the cottage retains a largely complete set of high-quality features, including panelled doors and shutters with moulded architraves, panelled cupboard doors, a quarter-turn staircase with stick balusters, moulded cornicing, and slate fireplaces. One fireplace in the ground-floor former parlour has a moulded lintel and jambs with corner roundels.
