Description
Sunny Corner Nurseries is an early 19th-century market building located on the east side of The Square, Chacewater. The structure was largely re-erected around 1970. It is constructed of killas rubble with elvan ashlar used for the door and window surrounds and voussoirs, and granite columns with freestone capitals. The roof is covered with asbestos slate. The building has a rectangular plan facing an open courtyard. A solid original back wall runs against the road to the west. The original wide entrance, featuring an elliptical stone arch, is located on the north end. Five salvaged Doric columns, exhibiting slight entasis, support a monopitch roof; four of these columns have moulded capitals. The roof structure is of 20th-century origin.
