Description
Trelugga is a former pair of cottages, now combined into one, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. The building is constructed of rubble stone, with some upper walls made of plastered cob, and is set into bedrock on the north-west side. It features a thatched roof with brick chimneys at both gabled ends and one near the center of the ridge. The structure is one and a half storeys tall and has an almost symmetrical appearance.
On the ground floor, there are two 4-pane, 2-light casement windows on either side of a 20th-century stone porch, which has a hipped gabled thatched roof and a 20th-century timber door. To the right, two more 4-pane, 2-light casement windows are positioned beside a 20th-century glazed door that includes glazing bars. The first floor windows are directly above those on the ground floor, comprising one 2-light casement window with glazing bars, one without, and two additional 2-light, 4-pane casements.
Inside, there is a large fireplace in the left room featuring a chamfered timber lintel with run-out stops, and stones that project in a vertical line against the rear wall of the breast, possibly to assist in drawing the fire. The fireplace in the right-hand room has an unchamfered timber lintel. The roof timbers have been replaced.
